You must tell the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) immediately of any changes to your name, address or both. Just return your Registration Certificate (V5C) to DVLA for amendment. A new one will be issued free of charge.
Informing DVLA of a change of address will ensure your V11 renewal reminder is sent to your correct address.

Get a Replacement Registration Certificate
DVLA aims to deliver a Registration Certificate to you within four weeks of receiving your application. Allow at least six weeks for your Registration Certificate to arrive before contacting DVLA. Remember that you may need to change your name and address details on your driving licence.

If you've got a personalised registration Retention Document, you'll need to return it to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BW. A new one will be delivered to you within six weeks. If you fail to update it, you may not get a reminder to extend the retention period and your entitlement to the registration number could be lost.
